Any past SOF participant welcomed, link: bit.ly/SOFAdvisory 2018-2019, Seeds of Fire Program will be hosting an organizing Advisory Committee of up to 5 individuals to support the development and management of the Seeds of Fire Summer Camp and the Seeds of Fire Fund. Each Advisory Committee member will be receiving a $2,000 stipend at the completion of their time as a Committee member. This is a 1 year commitment. Focus of Internship: The Highlander Seeds of Fire program works year-round with young people from organizations in the South and Appalachia to build leadership and organizing skills. Interns will take part in several areas of work connected to this program. Our on-going work during this period, includes: Seeds of Fire mini-camps in local communities, Economics & Governance training of trainers, Children’s Justice Camp, among many other activities. We are looking for Southern and Appalachian youth, young adult and adult ally leaders to join the 2017 Seeds of Fire Advisory Committee, an intergenerational advisory committee to Highlander’s Seeds of Fire program. The Advisory Committee aims to increase the input and direction of youth and young adults in the Seeds of Fire programs and the overall intergenerational work of the Highlander Center. The Advisory Committee also serves as staff for at least one Seeds of Fire programmatic event, determines grantees for the Seeds of Fire Fund (as money permits), and develops leadership and organizational development skills for members. Seeds of Fire Fund 2014-Deadline Aug. 15

Seeds of Fire Fund: The Seeds of Fire Fund is created by Highlander and supported by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund to support youth and young adult organizing groups and efforts in the South and Appalachia. Deadline: August 15th. The fund provides grants to groups that have been engaged with Highlander’s Seeds of Fire program and other intergenerational programs over the past three years to support infrastructure projects under $2,000.
