Long-time Highlander friend Pete Seeger sang “This Land Is Your Land” with Bruce Springsteen at the We Are One concert at the Lincoln Memorial on January 18th, two days before President Obama’s inauguration.

Pete led the audience in singing the entire song, including the rarely performed verse, “I came to a sign that said ‘Private Property,’ but on the other side it didn’t say nothing. That side was made for you and me!”

The first video of the performance was removed from YouTube after a copyright complaint by HBO, which broadcast the concert. But a second version has recently been posted online, and we wanted to share it with folks who may have missed the original.

Pete Seeger first came to Highlander in the 1940s with Woody Guthrie and has been back many times since. A video greeting that Pete sent to Highlander on the occasion of our 75th anniversary in 2007 is available here.
