Apples from Highlander’s newly purchased Hungry Mountain Farm will be available at the Market Square Farmers Market in downtown Knoxville this Saturday, August 16th, during the Market’s regular hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The apples for sale this weekend are Gala apples, with red skins and a crisp, sweet taste. They are excellent for eating raw and for cooking.
We will be selling Galas and other varieties of apples from Hungry Mountain Farm throughout the fall at the Market Square Farmers Market and at other farmers markets in the area. We anticipate that the following varieties will be available:
- Gala – mid-August to mid-September
- Golden Delicious – September-October
- Winesap, Hardy Cumberland, and Red Delicious – late September to mid-October
- Arkansas Black – late September through October
