Join us in Miami, FL Dec. 7-8 for three free workshops across two days, each posing different questions about how we build community.
“A Revolution in Culture” brings Dasjon Jordan, Executive Director of Broad Community Connections, Denzel Caldwell, the Economics and Governance lead at Highlander Center, and Phillip Agnew, Co-Executive Director of BlackMenBuild, together for a conversation rooted in honoring the movement lineage they each come from, how the cities they work in influence their work, and notes on our movements in this time.
Joseph Cuillier III is one half of the dynamic leadership duo that drives The Black School, and their Process Deck is a tarot-style interactive methodology tool for brainstorming and designing creative activism projects. Through a series of questions and choices participants identify issues of primary significance to them, define the terms and context around that/those issues and design impactful projects to address them.
Highlander Center’s Lyceum intends to be a space where people ALWAYS leave with homework, so each attendee will leave with a deck of their own to use with their folks. Each of these workshops intends to remind us of the power in our communities, that we are all learners and teachers, and that despair is not an option when so many of your neighbors, friends, comrades, and fellow insurgents are working to make the world softer for you. As always, this event is free. Register Here: bit.ly/winterlyceum
