Highlander Center and Rural Support Partners are looking for 15 emerging leaders in Central Appalachia dedicated to creating a just and equitable region to become part of the Appalachian Transition Fellowship. The Fellowship is a year-long, full-time, paid program which will place fellows in host communities made up of two or three organizations or a larger network of organizations in the region, where they will work on projects—one designed by the host community and another designed by themselves—toward transitioning the region’s economy into one that is thriving, sustainable, and equitable through a focus on energy, food, health, and other local sectors. As part of this process, Fellows will develop their critical and leadership skills while diversifying and expanding their professional networks. For more information about the fellowship and the application process, please visit the Appalachian Transition Fellowship website, or email appfellows@highlandercenter.org.
