In December 2008, Highlander joined other members of East Tennessee Jobs with Justice in protesting the Wall Street bailout and calling for government action to provide emergency help to the victims of the economic crisis and to build a fair economy that works for all people.
The demonstration was part of the Campaign for a People’s Bailout, coordinated by Jobs with Justice (JWJ), a national network of labor, religious, student and community organizations that helps workers and their allies win justice in workplaces and in communities where working families live.
