Highlander is pleased to be hosting The Rockwood Leadership Institute in a collaborative effort to bring Rockwood’s “Art of Leadership” training to the South for the first time. This 4-day, residential training is “designed to teach powerful visioning, listening, speaking, presentation, coaching, team-building, and feedback skills to emerging and established leaders.” It will be led by nationally recognized trainers and facilitators, Michael Bell and Maria Ramos-Chertok and is open to southern social change/non-profit leaders only.
Highlander Director Pam McMichael, who attended the “Art of Leadership for Women in Racial Justice and Human Rights” last year, says of Rockwood’s approach,
This training is amazingly helpful. You can go through life being accomplished at many things but the challenges of leadership in a social justice organization are particular and extensive. The Rockwood training helped me connect the person I am to the leader I am in practical and inspirational ways.
