On 9/21/07, with the help of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE), Highlander installed an anemometer tower to measure whether we get enough wind to install a windmill to generate electricity.
Data from the anemometers on the tower will be analyzed by the SACE and posted below as it becomes available, so be sure check back regularly for updates.
Note: The number of "Kilowatt Hours" is calculated based on the output of an Abundant Renewable Energy ARE 442 10 kilowatt wind turbine operating at the "Average Wind Speed" for one month. The figure for "Value of Electricity" is calculated at $0.15/kWh, the price paid by the Tennessee Valley Authority through their Green Power Switch Generation Partners program.
